At the Harris Academy at Peckham we currently offer French and Spanish. 

We also offer English as an additional language to overseas students.

Students do either French or Spanish and study that language through 

to GCSE. Accelerated groups do a GCSE exam in year 9.

Students are taught listening, speaking, reading and writing through the Immersion method which combines accelerated learning techniques and target language.

They have two periods of Modern Languages per week.

Students with another language at home are strongly encouraged and supported in taking it at GCSE.

Reaching a C grade at GCSE level means being able to have conversations, as well as to read and write letters and essays in the foreign language.

The Language Faculty widens the world for students. Visits to France and Spain; GCSE revision classes, foreign films after school and a KS3 club are the highlights of extra-curricular life of the Faculty.
