Esther - Year 9

I think Harris Academy Peckham is wonderful! I love being able to learn new topics in my class and I am always presented with new opportunities and trips. 

My favourite trip was to the Barbican Centre, as part of the school orchestra, where we were able to perform with other Harris academies. It was particularly exciting to meet different people who play the same instrument as myself and to also see the different levels of music. 

HAP has a brilliant music department, which offers the most enrichment clubs and opportunities. With this I have picked up multiple instruments, and I am excited to start music GCSE next year. 

The teaching here is a highlight, as the teachers ensure that everyone understands new content and will provide extra support to any student who needs it. 

For the rest of my time at HAP, I look forward to getting good grades and perfecting all the work I do here. I believe that HAP will help me to achieve my goal of becoming a neurosurgeon. 

My advice to current Year 6 is to not be afraid of the older people around you and focus on your work!
