Rewards & Recognition
We take every opportunity to celebrate success and foster a culture of respect and kindness.
School rewards programmes can be a great way to help students do their best and feel good about their efforts. They motivate students and boost confidence too, as well as encouraging good habits and helping students to set goals.
When effort and kindness are celebrated, everyone feels included – creating a happier and more supportive school environment.
Peckham Points
Our popular Peckham Points scheme is an important part of school life for all students. Each day, students can earn Harris Points for everything from hard work and exemplary manners, to showing kindness to others and resilience. We award hundreds of Harris Points each day and record them all to share with parents.
Families enjoy keeping track of their child’s Peckham Points by using the My Child at School app.
It’s one of the reasons behaviour at our academy is so good – with success breeding success and students encouraged to keep on doing the right thing to get more rewards. Of course, if anyone’s behaviour or effort falls short, points can get taken away, but with every chance of putting that right and winning them back quickly.

As students accumulate Harris Points, they will progress through various Reward Levels (bronze, gold and silver) achieving special badges and certificates along the way.
At the end of each term we hold a special Rewards Assembly for each year group, to celebrate those nominated by each subject for achievement and progress.
Golden tickets are awarded for outstanding contribution to learning, exceptional pieces of work or constantly displaying the values we expect. Each Friday we draw a raffle and one golden ticket winner receives a voucher to their school email inbox, to be spent at one of a variety of shops available. Students enjoy posting their golden tickets in the box each afternoon and parents get a text message to inform them, too.
Celebrating effort and kindness creates a happy and supportive school environment.
Principal's Breakfasts
Our monthly Principal’s Breakfasts are an opportunity for Ms Bergin to meet with students who have achieved something exceptional, such as representing the academy or shown themselves to be a role model to others.
Each student receives a certificate and enjoys time with our Principal to talk about their achievements.

Our stories
William - Year 8
“This is a great school with dedicated teachers who genuinely care about their students. Unfortunately, some people judge it unfairly based on its location, without seeing the positive experiences and opportunities it offers.”
