Southwark Youth Parliament Inspires Students

This term, our students took part in an engaging and informative assembly delivered by the Southwark Youth Parliament team.

The session introduced students to the purpose and work of the Youth Parliament, highlighting how young people can influence decisions and create positive change within their community. 

During the assembly, the team explained the election process, helping students understand how representatives are chosen and how they can get involved. They also introduced the candidates standing in the Peckham area, giving students valuable insight into the voices shaping local youth advocacy. 

The session played an important role in helping students recognise the significance of youth voice and local representation, especially as the upcoming elections approach. By hearing directly from the Youth Parliament team, students were encouraged to think about how they, too, can contribute to making a difference in their borough.
