Year 10 GCSE Drama Visit to Mountview
Our Year 10 GCSE Drama students recently visited Mountview drama school in Peckham to watch Mockingbird 1.
Set in a future where Earth can no longer support life, the production follows humanity’s evacuation to a new solar system. With musicians placed last in the evacuation order, the story explores the value of music and art in society.
Before attending, students participated in a pre-show workshop (pictured) led by Mountview staff, preparing them for the performance and encouraging them to consider how the story would be brought to life on stage.

Following the show, students took part in a Q&A with the actors and technical team. They asked meaningful questions about the production and the creative process, gaining an insight into the rehearsal process, performance choices and technical work behind the scenes.
The visit gave students a valuable opportunity to connect their GCSE learning with live theatre and gather ideas to inspire their own acting and design work. Thank you to Mountview for supporting our students and providing such a rich learning experience.
