Fluttery Feelings and Fantastic Spelling!
Federation Spelling Bee Success.
We were proud to host this year’s highly anticipated Harris Federation Spelling Bee, bringing together talented Year 7 spellers from different Harris schools for day of excitement, concentration and friendly competition.
Having won the Spelling Bee last year, our students were eager to defend their title, but they faced very tough competition. Each team demonstrated impressive preparation, confidence and resilience as they tackled an increasingly challenging range of vocabulary.

The standard was exceptionally high, with pupils spelling a series of very difficult words as conscientious, metamorphosis and rhythm.
“I was really nervous and my stomach felt fluttery, but once I started spelling, I tried to stay calm and focus on each word,” said Osasogie.
The event was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate a shared love of language, promote healthy competition and strengthen links across the federation. We already look forward to next year’s Spelling Bee!
