Year 9 King’s Scholars Explore Future Career Pathways

Year 9 King’s Scholars Explore Future Career Pathways

Our Year 9 King’s Scholars took part in an inspiring Career Pathways Workshop, designed to broaden their understanding of future opportunities and help them develop essential skills for life beyond school.

The session introduced students to a range of post‑16 pathways, including A‑levels, T‑levels, and Level 3 Apprenticeships. Through guided activities, they learned about the differences between each route, the types of careers they can lead to, and how to make informed decisions as they progress through their education.

King's Scholars is a three-year programme of activities supporting the educational pathways of year 7-9 pupils.

A key part of the workshop focused on personal branding. Students reflected on their transferable skills, such as communication, teamwork and problem‑solving, and discussed how these strengths can be showcased in applications, interviews, and future workplaces. They also explored strategies for developing these skills further as they move through secondary school.

To finish the session, the King’s Scholars took part in mock interview practice, giving them the opportunity to build confidence, refine their speaking skills, and gain insight into what employers and colleges look for.

The workshop was an excellent opportunity for our students to think ahead, recognise their potential, and take proactive steps towards shaping their futures. We are incredibly proud of their engagement, maturity, and ambition throughout the day.
