Broad knowledge and understanding

  • The curriculum provides learners with a comprehensive understanding of the digital sector. It covers various aspects related to technology, data, and information management.

Specialist skills and techniques

  • Students acquire practical skills in project planning, designing user interfaces, and manipulating and interpreting data.
  • They learn how to apply these skills effectively in real-world scenarios.

Digital literacy and safety

  • Learners develop digital literacy, which includes the ability to locate, evaluate, and use digital hardware and software.
  • Safety considerations are emphasized, including ergonomic practices (e.g., prolonged use of computing equipment).

Communication

  • The curriculum emphasises effective communication, not only through digital media but also in various contexts.
  • Given the recent shift to remote learning, communication skills are crucial for collaboration and information exchange.

Ethical and social impact

  • Students explore legal and moral principles related to digital conduct.
  • Topics include cyberbullying, internet safety, copyright law, and the digital divide.
  • As technology evolves, ethical questions about privacy and interactions with Artificially Intelligent entities become relevant.

Resilience and independence

  • Complex challenges in digital technology require resilience and problem-solving skills.
  • Learners independently break down problems, tackle them, and develop a resilient approach.
