FAQ - Year 7 Guide to starting at Harris Academy Peckham

When is the first day for Year 7 students?

The first day will run from 8:25am to 2:00pm.  Students need to be on-site in full school uniform and we have allocated this day just for Year 7 so that we can dedicate the day to make sure that you are familiar and comfortable with your new Academy.

What do I need to bring?

You will need to bring the HAP rucksack.  Students will need their own personal learning equipment including, black, blue, red and green pens, pencils, ruler, eraser, sharpener, calculator.  Students should also have a reading book with them and we recommend they have a refillable water bottle.

What lessons will I have?

After a welcome session delivered by your tutor and an assembly led by the Principal, you will follow your normal timetable of lessons. This means you will get to meet a selection of your teachers and start your learning journey straight away. Please note that you will not need your PE kit for the first day and that you will receive your full timetable on your second day at the school.

How will I enter and exit the Academy?

Students will enter and exit via the Lyndhurst Gate on Lyndhurst Way.

What time will I start and finish?

Please see our timings of the day.

What will happen at break and lunchtime?

We are pleased that for the first day only we will provide all Year 7 students with lunch.

From the second day you will be able to purchase a hot meal at lunchtime so please ensure your ParentPay account is kept topped up. Students who are in receipt of free school meals will receive their lunch in the normal way. Please also feel free to bring a packed lunch if preferred and we recommend that all students have a refillable water bottle.

Year 7 students will have a 20 minute mid-morning break and a 40 minute lunch time break.
