Time for some action - no better way to enjoy live classical 🎻🥁🎺 than up high amongst the cool of the concrete, rumble of trains on rails and surrounded by south London young people, families and musicians? Nowhere, obvs! https://t.co/X66f74GqR6

The LRC supports learning and teaching and provides a welcoming and motivating environment for all members of the Academy.  Our focus is on curriculum areas and enthusiasm of reading.  The LRC is opened for students during break, before school and after school.
chessplayersreading2-1A variety of resources are available: The stock of 13000 books contains non-fiction as well as the latest young adult fiction, periodicals and a DVD collection to be inspired, educated and entertained by.  Fifty computers offer an important source for research and home-work, they are also booked for lessons by all subject areas.
Reading for pleasure is the foundation for good literacy skills and we encourage students to read and learn by offering a wide range of initiatives and events: induction lessons for year 7, Reading and Writing competitions, Riddle of the Week, inspiring display boards, enrichment activities, celebration of World Book Day, Book Quizzes, book clubs, a film club, and support by reading buddies.
Student librarians are involved with activities, displays and the selection of stock. For the 6th form students we provide a quiet study area, designated computers and a career section.
