Year 8 students attended creative workshops run by Theatre Peckham. As well as developing their literacy and communication skills, students worked on a project which culminated in a play which they wrote and performed to an audience. We thank Peckham for hosting pic.twitter.com/kCUjRWBaBe

Pitch4Change

On 28 January some of our Post 16 students took place at a Pitch4Change event. The students worked for an hour with volunteers from Mace, who they practiced their presentation with and got feedback and coaching on. They then pitched their project idea to a panel of judges, and were awarded the full £300 they had pitched for. Both the Mace volunteers and judges were incredibly impressed by the students professionalism and commented on what an inspiring team of young people they are. They singled out Gafar as having been particularly charming in how he persuaded them to support the team’s project. Kenneth, who had been very nervous about speaking in public before hand completely rose to the challenge and was the first to present during the pitch, receiving feedback from the judges on how strong a start their presentation had been given. All the students spoke during the pitch, even though many of them had been quite anxious about this beforehand, and they all came across as confident and professional. The students represented their school and Envision extremely well and should be very proud of their achievements!
