Year 8 students attended creative workshops run by Theatre Peckham. As well as developing their literacy and communication skills, students worked on a project which culminated in a play which they wrote and performed to an audience. We thank Peckham for hosting pic.twitter.com/kCUjRWBaBe

KS3 Drama Club

KS3 Drama Club – Behind the Curtains Theatre Company

On Thursday 14th December KS3 Drama club, took a performance piece to the first ever Harris on Stage performance festival. This event was organised as a means to bring academies together to share and celebrate student attainment in Performing Arts across the Federation and it did exactly that! It was an extremely special event that saw over 130 students from various Harris Academies showcase short performances to an invited audience at Harris Academy Greenwich.

Quote from staff at Harris Academy Greenwich: ‘Harris Academy Peckham presented an impacting and unique piece exploring gang culture’.

It was truly remarkable to see students from all of the various academies networking, supporting and celebrating each other's talents and performances.

Our students worked very hard to create and perform an original piece of Theatre In Education and I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate KS3 Drama Club on their fantastic contribution to the festival.
