GCSE Success at Harris Academy Peckham

Students and staff at Harris Academy Peckham are celebrating their GCSE results.

75% of students gained at least a Grade 4 in English and almost 60% did so in Maths.

Science continues to flourish at the academy, with every chemistry and physics student, and 93% of biologists, gaining at least a Grade 5, which is a strong pass. 40% of physics students and 33% of chemistry students got a Grade 7 or higher, equivalent to at least an A.

Languages also performed well. In Spanish, a fifth of students achieved the top ‘super’ Grade 9 – equivalent to an A** and a fantastic achievement. 38% of French students achieved at least a Grade 7 (‘A’ grade+ equivalent).

Well done to the following ‘star performers’:

· Umer: Grade 9s in History, Physics and English Literature

· Marina: Grade 9s in Religious Studies and Chemistry

· Jenny: Grade 9s in Art and English Language

· Saeed: Grade 9 in Religious Studies

· Fahima: Grade 9 in Religious Studies

Rebecca Hickey, Executive Principal of Harris Academy Peckham, said:

“I am incredibly proud of our outgoing Year 11. They have been a pleasure and a privilege to teach. It is incredibly rewarding to see them open the door to A Levels and the next stages of their lives.

“We are hugely fortunate to have an amazing team of teachers and support staff. I am so pleased that their hard work has paid off.”
