Poem: "Once Again People of Colour Have Been Failed by the System"

Once again people of colour have been failed by the system
No hope. No justice for the victims
Instead of embracing difference in cultures
We have to see innocent black people go through torture.
Why does the colour of your skin matter on how far one will go? On how successful one will be?
Why is the colour of your skin seen as a weapon and not a shield?
Like a cut that can never be healed.
Black people have to fight everyday as if they are on a battle field
Scared for their own life and having to keep their mouths sealed.
We can’t just brush past this
Because there have been more cases. It’s a never-ending list
We need our voices to be heard
That black lives matter.
