Boxing Unite - Toni-Ann, Year 10, Reports

Toni-Ann, Year 10, reports on taking part in Boxing Unite.

It’s been such a wonderful experience being a part of a programme that not only opened my eyes to a sport that I would never think to pursue but also helped me create a connection with the police and allowed me to understand the severity of their presence in our communities.

Boxing is such a misunderstood sport that is not on many females’ radars today due to its negative and violent connotation. However, it’s much more than who can hit the hardest or who taps out first, it’s a coping mechanism, a way to release all pent-up emotions. This experience has been truly eye opening.
