Kai, 16, Writes About his Achievements so Far

Bb92c5d1 7265 4d50 95cb 8612f82a862a.JPEGHi, my name is Kai. I am 16 years old and I will talk about some achievements so far.

One of my achievements that I have accomplished is a career in horse riding. This all started in Year 10, when I was introduced to something I would have never expected myself to be able to do - horse riding!

At first I was nervous as I had never ridden a horse before or even touched one. I did a regional week with some other students in my year and it was amazing. Big thanks to the Riding A Dream Academy for always supporting and helping me become the horse rider I am today.  It was an amazing experience and I'm happy because I have come so far.

I then did a residential at The British Racing School where I learnt even more things. I learnt new things that come with being a jockey such as cantering and learning the position jockeys have to stay in for a long time. I then got accepted onto the Khadijah Mellah Scholarship where I then used all my new skills to be able to canter on an ex-racehorse. I am very thankful for the Riding A Dream Academy for everything they have done in order to help me with achieving how far I have come in this sport.

Another achievement is that I have recently been accepted onto the Chelsea Football Foundation College and that is where I will be attending after Harris Academy Peckham. I will be there for three years and whilst I am there I will also be completing my coaching badges in order to teach some of my knowledge to younger generations.

After I finish my GCSE exams I will be at Chelsea training and also completing my A Levels. As I finish that I will also be looking at completing the foundation course where my previous knowledge will be brought back and I will use that to graduate.

I will then be working in the racing industry and I am very excited to see how far I go. My ambition is to become a jockey. I am using my LEAP skills: Leadership, Enquiry, Aspiration and Perseverance that I have learned and used throughout my secondary school journey. Hopefully I will accomplish my ambition of becoming a jockey.
