Virtual Learning Resources

We want you to be able to access all the support you need while studying from home. This page explains how we will make available the resources you need, and is updated regularly.

It is really important that although you are not in school, you are sticking to a routine whilst continuing to learn at home using the Virtual Learning provided by the academy.

We strongly recommend that you use the Virtual Timetables downloadable below for your year group next week to help organise your time effectively and be as productive as possible. For now, you should be using the resources that have already been uploaded.

Click here to download the Year 9 Virtual Timetable

After Easter, we will be updating resources on a weekly basis so that you continue your studies during this challenging time. Our aim is for you to still be able to remember everything you have learnt already this year (and before) whilst continuing to build new knowledge so that when you come back to school you are in a strong position!

Starting on Monday 30th March, students in Year 10 will be taking part in a trial of virtual learning through Microsoft Teams. You will find your classes already allocated in MS Teams.

You can download MS Teams onto your devices at home and your mobile for free. View or download a guide on how to access email, OneDrive, Teams and other Office 365 apps.

This is a new experience for everyone connected to the Academy (students, parent/carers and teachers). With this in mind we would really appreciate your feedback and will be launching a parent survey soon.

Virtual learning resources folder

Although we are planning to use Microsoft Teams (and email) to share resources with you, we have also created a home learning resources folder in SharePoint (see link below).

View our virtual learning resources folder.

If you have forgotten your password please email our IT services manager on who will support you in re-setting it. Please do remember our etiquette for remote learning and how we interact to support one another.

Recommended websites

We've compiled a subject-by-subject list of recommended websites and other resources for Key Stages 3 and 4, which you can download below.

More subjects to come.

We plan to upload more for other years and subjects in future so please come back to check them out. You can also download a list of other free online educational resources (compiled courtesy of the home education community).

Strengthening Minds activity pack

Strengthening Minds has put together a 'Staying at Home in Style' pack to support children and families. The resource has lots of activities and support you can check out, including links to online learning activities, puzzles and activities you can do as a family, and ideas to support emotional wellbeing and mindfulness. Download a copy of the Strengthening Minds 'Staying at Home in Style' pack.

Parents - we value your feedback

Our physical schools will be closing for now, but our ‘virtual schools’ stand ready for you and your children. This is new territory for all of us, and it is new territory for all of you too, but we remain as one school community. Your feedback on our virtual learning will be very valuable. Please do email us at Thank you.
