Spellathon Success For Year 8 Team

SpellingOur determined spellers from 8A1 took part in a Spellathon against students from other Harris Federation academies earlier this term.

Michael, Daniel, Shiloh, Hiqmat, Esther and Ayobami spent the entire week preparing during their lunches and breaks for the quick-fire rounds and the infamous, ‘you and you alone’ round.

After an amazing event, which took place online, our students came in second place. Their resilience had paid off and they were more than pleased with their outcomes!

"Even though we did not win, I enjoyed participating with others in an exciting event," said Esther, from 8A1. Ayobami said: "The buzzer round was my favourite as it challenged me to spell a word correctly in a limited amount of time or have it passed on to another Academy."

All in all, Ms Abdulkadir, Mr Lane and all members of staff are so proud of the students for their hard work, and can’t wait for the next one!
