Students Impress at South London’s Largest Arts Centre
The first ever Harris Federation Festival of Music happened at Fairfield Halls on 9th July 2025.
Our students performed as part of the massed Harris in Harmony Choir, Federation Concert Orchestra and our phenomenal KS4 Jazz Band – who came second in the Federation Battle of the Bands competition, impressing the audience with a slick, tight performance of A Night in Tunisia.
Despite a sell-out audience, including Sir Dan Moynihan and Secondary Director Rebecca Hickey, not to mention representatives from Sony Music and ABRSM, our students performed with no fear - simply with sheer joy and a love of music that exuded from them.
As a small academy, our students stood out for their enthusiasm and musicality, and demonstrated the excellence in music that they are known for, reflected in the fact that we have since received several phone calls and emails about just how phenomenal our student musicians are.
The rapturous applause from the audience at the end of the performance was a well-deserved celebration of the time and effort that they put into their music.
