Rewards, Motivation & Wellbeing

We recognise that Year 11 is a difficult, and at times, stressful time for all students and their parents. In order to support with this we have a comprehensive system of rewards and wellbeing initiatives for students to provide them with best possible Year 11 experience.

Attendance rewards

All students with 100% attendance are entered into a prize draw each week with a chance to win a voucher which can be used in most retail outlets.

Peckham Points

Leadership, Enquiry, Aspiration and Perseverance are our core values at Harris Peckham. We recognise this most keenly in Year 11 with students rewarded for demonstrating these values in their lessons, intervention sessions and independent revision. For students who receive the highest numbers of positive points they receive certificates and prizes each half term. In addition they will be entered into a prize draw each term to win a significant prize – past prizes have included laptops and tablets.

Reward trips

Picture 11We aim to ensure that where there is hard work, this is recognised and rewarded to fuel motivation. As a result all departments have been invited to consider reward trips in line with their curriculum. For instance, all Music students will this year be taken to see Hamilton as a reward for their perseverance in lessons. Further trips to follow.

Wellbeing

Every Friday after school we run a football and wellbeing activity to support students at the end of a tough week. This runs from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.

Our assemblies every Wednesday have a focus on guiding students through managing their workload and top tips to support their mental health as they navigate their most difficult school year yet. Over the course of the year wellbeing sessions take place that range from mental health workshops to yoga sessions.

We also conduct student surveys to hear student voice as to what further support they require from us.

If you have any suggestions or questions as to how we can support your child further through this year then please do get in touch at enquiries@harrispeckham.org.uk
